This wild beauty was too good to pass up. I’ve never seen or worked with this style before. The piece was in rough shape and the drawers all needed rebuilding. Unfortunately, a lot of the original veneer on the drawer fronts was chipped beyond repair, but a glazed milk paint finish and drawing out the details on the veneer that was salvaged made for a stunning finish. This is truly a unique piece now residing in Blue Hill!
I used Fjord Blue General Finishes Milk Paint with General Finishes Pitch Black Glaze Effects, hand applied an selectively removed for a deep cobalt, almost dark denim-washed look. Vintage Art Deco drawer pulls got a copper paint treatment and the waterfall top, tiger grain detail and inlaid stripe received 4 coats of gloss poly.
Pictures don’t do this one justice!
